HOW WE WORK WITH
WINDFARM TOLERANT RADAR STAKEHOLDERS
There is a growing need for renewable energy, including wind power. While there may be many obstacles to these ambitions, Aveillant’s mission is to ensure that the impact of windfarms on radars is not one of them.
While traditional radars are usually unable to detect aircraft that are at the same range as a windfarm, Aveillant’s Holographic Radar technology can continue to detect, track and classify aircraft.
Our Theia product is specialised for this application to ensure that both air traffic control radars at airports and military radars can continue to operate effectively. Theia provides a standard asterix Cat 34/48 output for easy integration with existing primary surveillance radar.

INFORMATION FOR…
We work with you to ensure that you can make a convincing case that Theia will sufficiently mitigate the impact of a proposed windfarm. Once the project is approved, we continue to work with you and other stakeholders to deploy Theia, integrate with other systems and demonstrate performance.
When it comes to windfarms, it can be difficult to negotiate the sometimes conflicting requirements to:
- Increase the percentage of energy coming from renewable sources
- Ensure safety at airports
- Keep the country safe from air intrusions
Aveillant’s Theia Holographic Radar aims to remove this conflict so that windfarms can be approved with confidence that airports and defence will not be adversely impacted.
Our Theia Holographic Radar ensures that a full picture of the airspace can be maintained even in the presence of windfarms. We work with you to make sure data from Theia can be seamlessly integrated with your existing systems.
