HOW WE WORK WITH
UTM CUSTOMERS
UTM (Unmanned Air System Traffic Management) is all about monitoring and tracking cooperative (and non-cooperative drones) to manage civilian drone applications in low-altitude airspace.
There are a wide range of beneficial applications for drone technology including:
- Commercial parcel delivery
- Medical drones (delivery of blood for transfusions and testing)
- Inspection of power lines
For these applications to be viable, it is vital that the unmanned air traffic can be managed to ensure safety. This is especially true in busy urban environments.
For these applications, the cooperative drones will typically be tracked using GPS and the cellular network. Aveillant’s Gamekeeper Holographic Radar provides three key capabilities to support this tracking:
- Providing an independent source of data (e.g. in case of spoofing)
- Providing a backup in case of jamming or a cellular network outage
- Detecting and tracking non-cooperative drones which may try to enter the controlled airspace
Aveillant is part of the following consortiums to develop safe BVLoS (beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone operations which can be integrated into the civilian airspace.
SAFIR consortium (EU)
DARTeC consortium (Cranfield University)

INFORMATION FOR…
For BVLoS drone operations to become commonplace, as is the hope and expectation in many industries, the development and testing of technology is key. Aveillant’s Gamekeeper can provide a key piece in this puzzle with non-cooperative detection and tracking.
We are always keen to work closely with our customers and other key stakeholders to understand how we can develop our technology to meet needs now and in the future.
Drone technology promises to transform many industries, making:
- Commercial deliveries more convenient and greener
- Essential medical deliveries faster
- Power network inspections safer
Whatever your application, Aveillant’s aim is not just to help make that application safe, but also to enable you to effectively demonstrate this to regulators and authorities. We’ll work closely with you to provide the evidence you need to bring your drone vision closer to reality.
Aveillant is already part of the SAFIR and DARTeC programs, and we’re always interested in hearing from other industry and academic researchers. The Holographic Radar technology which makes up Gamekeeper provides highly detailed information on the airspace. This gives you the information that you need to push the bounds of what is currently possible in the Unmanned Traffic Management space. Gamekeeper can easily be integrated with other systems and sensors.
